UNITY over Filipino's Resiliency
It was the month of March when the COVID-19 virus outbreak began to spread nationwide. Shortly after a few days, classes were suspended for the safety of everyone, but after a week or so, The President declared a nationwide lockdown for the safety of everyone in this country. Months later, the number of cases has risen into the thousands.
It was a different life when the
lockdown started. People have to stay inside their homes. This brought a huge
number of business establishments to be closed. Many citizens lost their job.
And it affected the lives of Filipinos especially the poor ones. As a youth, I am concerned about what lies ahead.
I am concerned about different aspects of our lives like academic and other
important matters. I was worried whether we can still continue to learn because
of the danger that this pandemic may bring. Thankfully, there were ways to
still continue to learn. It is not as effective as face-to-face classes but the
main idea is that learning is still in the process. We, Filipinos are known
for being resilient, but we must not romanticize it because we deserve better.
We must speak out about what we want and demand our rights.
